Composing Authority and Openness: The Main Meeting Room of BPR BDE Headquarters
Introduction: The Heart of Decision and a Symbol of Honor
The main meeting room is the heart of every institution — a place where ideas are refined, strategies are discussed, and crucial decisions are made.
In the design of The Main Meeting Room of BPR BDE Headquarters, this space is envisioned not only as a formal meeting venue but also as a symbolic representation of the institution’s credibility, dignity, and openness to progress.
The design aspires to create a professional atmosphere that feels both authoritative and welcoming. Every detail has been carefully crafted to reflect a sense of respect and grace, in harmony with the institution’s core values.
Design Concept and Philosophy
The main design concept revolves around “Balancing Authority and Openness.”
Authority is expressed through order, symmetry, and strong geometric composition, while openness is embodied in the U-shaped table configuration, which promotes active dialogue and clear communication between the board and participants.
Wood is chosen as the dominant material to bring warmth and calmness into the room, representing a grounded yet confident character. The use of textured wall panels and integrated lighting complements this natural tone, creating a contemporary environment that still honors classic institutional values.
Spatial Layout and Functionality
The floor plan demonstrates an efficient and well-balanced spatial composition.
The central area is occupied by a large U-shaped meeting table, oriented toward the executive desk at the front. This arrangement ensures optimal visibility and engagement among all participants during discussions and presentations.
The rear area provides a wide circulation space, allowing movement without disrupting the meeting flow. Supporting elements — such as a presentation counter, storage units, and service access — are subtly integrated to maintain visual order and continuity.
The room is also designed to accommodate modern technology, integrating projection screens, audio systems, and controlled lighting to enhance communication quality during various scales of meetings.
Material, Color, and Lighting
A refined combination of veneered wood panels and smooth acoustic finishes creates a warm and elegant texture throughout the room.
The color palette embraces earth tones — soft browns, beige, and cream — chosen to evoke a calm, focused, and respectable atmosphere. These tones promote concentration while maintaining visual comfort.
Lighting plays a central role in the spatial experience. A mix of recessed ceiling lights and indirect illumination produces soft, evenly distributed light, minimizing glare and enhancing the room’s professional ambiance.
As a visual centerpiece, the BPR BDE logo is placed on the main wall — not merely as decoration, but as a powerful emblem of integrity and institutional pride.
Ambience and Spatial Experience
Upon entering, one is greeted by an atmosphere that blends formality with warmth.
The dominant wooden tones convey calmness and approachability, while the proportional order of the space gives a sense of clarity and professionalism.
The room invites open communication and thoughtful discussion. With its gentle lighting and balanced form, it fosters a working mood that is confident yet unpretentious — showing that authority does not always mean rigidity, and professionalism can coexist with comfort.
Closing Reflection: Manifesting Identity Through Space
The design of the Main Meeting Room of BPR BDE Headquarters embodies the synthesis of function, character, and institutional value.
Every line, surface, and tone tells a story of stability, trust, and forward-looking vision.
This is more than just a room — it is a stage where meaningful decisions take place, and where the values of leadership, integrity, and collaboration are translated into space.
